Frequently Asked Questions
If your question is not answered here, please
contact us and we will be happy to assist.
How do I sign up for Telecom Source service?
You can give us a call, enroll online,
or, if you prefer, you can download a copy of our
application form and fax or mail it back to us.
How do you make calls with Telecom Source?
You have two choices, Pre-selection or call by call. With
Pre-selection you dial as you do now with Swisscom (or your other
chosen Pre-selected provider). For domestic calls, you simply dial a
"0" before the city code, and for international calls you
dial "00" before the country code. With call by call you
keep your current provider and dial our 5-digit code before each
call you wish to place through Telecom Source.
How will I know when my number is connected to Telecom Source?
We will inform you as soon as you are connected. For Pre-selection
this takes approximately one week, for call by call one or two days.
Will I have to change my phone number to use Telecom Source?
No. You keep your current phone number and can be reached, as
before, through that number.
What happens with my Swisscom connection (Analog, ISDN, Fax)?
You will keep your current Swisscom connection and telephone number
when you choose Telecom Source as your provider. All Swiss residents
will continue to receive a monthly bill from Swisscom
for the basic phone connection since the "Last Mile" is
still a Swisscom monopoly. From Telecom Source you will receive
our free detailed statement each month listing the details of each
call (destination, length, charges) together will useful graphic
representations of your calling patterns during the month.
Will my current Internet Dial-in service continue to function
with Telecom Source?
Yes. You current Internet Dial-in connection (084x xxx xxx) will
continue to function as before. It is not necessary to make any
changes in your computer or connection. You will continue being
billed by Swisscom for your internet usage and these charges will not be
included on your Telecom Source statement.
What is Pre-Selection?
Preselection is a standing order to route all of your calls over a
specific provider (for example, Telecom Source). This means that
when you pick up your phone you are automatically connected to your
chosen provider. The one exception is for the Swisscom numbers (111, 117, 118, 0800, 0900, etc.). These calls will
continue to go through Swisscom and will be charged on your monthly
Swisscom statement.
Must I inform Swisscom or my current provider if I choose
Preselection with Telecom Source?
No. We will take care of all the required details with Swisscom.
Where can I call with Telecom Source?
You can call any number you wish, either domestic or international,
including all mobile phone numbers, at much lower rates than you do
now.
What happens if I move?
When you move you must inform Swisscom by email, letter or
telephone. In the case of Pre-selection Swisscom will inform Telecom
Source of the change. If you use call by call, you must inform
Telecom Source of your new address and phone number.
Are there any charges for connection?
No. There are no enrollment or connection fees at Telecom Source.
You only pay for your phone calls.
Is there a monthly fee or minimum charge?
No. There are no monthly or minimum charges at Telecom Source.
What are the rates?
